A Paperman/Feast style would be cool. It blends both and it worked well for Pigeon in Y3.

I'm thinking this:

Spoiler

Most of the movie would take place in the real world (or a close approximation thereof) but every time the movie goes into a song number it enters a sort of heightened reality, so the "real world" bits would be all 2D but the song numbers would be in the Paperman style.

We've received word that Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Frozen, Coco) will be the head lyricists for most of the songs for Heart's Song, with one exclusive track performed by A Star is Born's Bradley Cooper, who has a bit role in the film.

Blankments Productions Wishes You a Happy Halloween from the Old West!

That's right. Shiverin' Gulch, one of Blankments Productions' legacy properties, is coming back. Taking a vein from Hourglass Pictures' Spark films, Shiverin' Gulch is being revived as a live-action franchise. The series is planned to have three films, delving deeper into the lore and world of the original film.

"Knowing the original work kinda glanced over the sociopolitical context of the Old West at the dawn of the Civil War, our main goal is to fix that while still telling a rollicking-but-scary adventure story," said Edward Nadny, president of Blankments Productions.

For this incarnation of the story, Shiverin' Gulch follows a small town on the border of Missouri and Arkansas, six months prior to the Civil War. With racial tensions flaring up, the town suddenly experiences paranormal disappearances, first of a boy who lives in the town and then of the town Sheriff.

Attached to direct the first film is Carlos López Estrada. Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal will be writing and starring in the film, in a re-teaming of the people behind Blindspotting. Alex Hirsch will executive produce the film.

In addition to Diggs and Casal, an all-star cast has been assembled for this Western horror adventure. Elizabeth Debecki will lead the cast and will be joined by McKenna Grace, Alfred Molina, Gil Birmingham, Holly Hunter and Chosen Jacobs in supporting roles.

The film is scheduled for release on October 8, aiming for a PG-13 rating. It hopes to a major blockbuster for the Halloween season, featuring a thought-provoking, engaging, and all-around spooky story for all ages to enjoy.

Update:

Cierra Ramirez has now tagged all four on Twitter, asking “Is there room for one more in the band?”

Looks like the goodies are coming early. In July Y5, prepare for the musical event of the summer. The Valkyries vs The Galaxy, an original live action sci-fi comedy musical directed by James Bobin (Freddy Zapper, The Muppets, and for some reason Jonny Jonny). Inspired by cartoons like Josie and The Pussycats and Jem and The Holograms and in someways the Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters franchise, Cassie (Cierra Ramirez) is an average college freshman as well as the lead singer of a rock band formed during high school with her lifelong best friends, the popular straight A honor roll student other lead singer Veronica (Sasha Lane), the rebellious guitarist with a heart of gold Samantha (Awkwafina) and the snarky yet somewhat socially awkward but animal drummer Elisa (Taissa Farmiga). However, despite their passion for music, the four are very unknown but fates favors the bold and somehow they become known... by aliens. The four are whisked away across the galaxy forced to compete in an intergalactic battle of the bands by a jazz loving and swinging alien (Seth MacFarlane) and a weird gaggle of alien competitors as well as the typical adversary with disdain for the main heroes (Rami Malek) who is the four time winner. The winner of the contest become known throughout the galaxy. However the gang quickly learn two things. One, that not only must they use musical skills but have to compete in fights, survive against deadly beasts and tackle dangerous obstacles and Two, learning the losing planets become obliterated. However with the help of a wise mentor in another surviving veteran losing competitor (Shamiek Moore), they may have a chance for not only stardom but saving their planet.

Pasek and Paul (The Greatest Showman, Kingdom of The Sun) will write the songs for the film and John Debney (Kingdom of The Sun) will score the film. The project aims for a PG-13 rating.

Just now, Blankments said:

Can we PLEASE get an original musical without Pasek and Paul songs? Lol

Might switch the songwriters to be honest down the line as I’m considering someone else to add.
