He's simply parroting what all the trades will parrot. Deadline's update at 4AM EST said $51.8M... Same thing.

Even with Inception's 16% Saturday jump and sub-12% Sunday hold, it would be around $50.7 million. That's the ceiling. $47-48m seems more likely.

Dunkirk, initial estimate: $22m, actual estimate $20m - disappointment

Apes, initial estimate: $5.5m, actual estimate $5.9m - decent hold

This is my reaction and i dont know why....

What law can describe this?? :winomg:

Very pleased with WW number. I was a little scared after the Thursday number. I am hoping for a 4.2-4.6 weekend. Less than 40% drop gets it to 400 mil hopefully. I cannot wait to watch Dunkirk and for some reason, I would like to see Valerian. It seems like a different type of movie. Although, the lead actor doesn't fit the typical presentation of an action hero. I saw Apes and I really liked it. I don't know how this prequel trilogy fit into the original Charleston Heston version. They introduced characters with the same names, but they are millennia apart. I wish there would have been something at the end which explained the time look and the nuclear war of the original version.

I knew it'd be frontloaded for OD and expected this so I'm not terribly concerned. On target for 48-49 and I was projecting around Mad Max opening

We also now have a baseline expectation for next Friday with Apes coming in at $5.9 million.
