1.8mil for Atomic Blonde is really bad. That's what Valerian got last Monday after a similar 18mil opening weekend and it dropped 63% in it's second weekend.

A friend of mine saw this and said it's a standard 80s movie trying to be modern female John Wick-esque film.

It's not bad but totally a wait for DVD film. He and his wife see a movie most weekends, they don't have kids, but even his wife said "we should've done an extra night on the DVR instead!"

Monday numbers seem fine to me. Emoji number seems pretty good, but curious to see how the Friday jump turns out for it.

From I understood Sunday number were very weak or was that an overstatement if regular sunday-monday drop gave fine monday number instead of weak ones ?

Not bad at all for Emoji. WoM may not be very good but I wouldnt call it toxic.

It's OD to Sun drop was a large 42% (10.025=>5.785...large for a non-sequel animation) so even if the Monday hold was good, it came of a lower than expected Sunday.

Sunday did have stronger drops than expected. But at this point, a lot of people wait for Discount Tuesday instead of watching movies on Monday. So we'll see if there are some good jumps today.

Also it has the worst Cinemascore for an animated movie since Norm of The North and a worse audience reception for an animated movie since Rock Dog.

Helps that the IMAX ratio seems to be declining. Opening weekend was around 23% and second weekend was around 20%.

2nd 22% and then there's the addition of 70mm locs which BO quite high
