@Rth Atmos what are your throughts on Hitman's Bodyguard prospects? I've had customers at my theatre asking about it all week and numerous phone calls almost as bad as when we didn't open Compton right away.

But I'm not sure if there actually is hype, or if I'm just mistaking hype in my small town for real anticipation.

I just want Hitman's Bodyguard to open north of 20 million.

If that happens, the next weekend (Labor Day weekend) will look even more dire, given there are no new releases on that weekend. Yikes.

and the week of September 1 despite LD. What if it happens back to back. Holy poopmoji.

I would think that Labor Day weekend is guaranteed, it is just the week before that would look bad.  Maybe it can hold up like Blade did....

those two weeks will be kick-ass for hold-overs. movies like Apes really need this scenario. this along with some imax expansion, and 150+ is looking good.

Hopefully if Annabelle holds ok this weekend it can have a nice few weeks afterwards.

I think Hitmans Bodyguard is hard to predict.

I dont see it going over $20m and I wouldn't be surprised with under $10m.

Plus early reviews aren't good.

Didn't take long for the new AMC Tuesday deal to kick in...now, once the MoviePass ones do, we could see some weekday holds we thought were reserved for dead of summer:)...

(FYI - That new Moviepass deal yesterday was so popular, it sunk its website multiple times and showed up on the front page of Yahoo and numerous unrelated message boards)...

Apes is not going into IMAX screens. It is Dunkirk for August and Inhumans for the first two weeks of September. Then Kingsmen takes over.

Nope, it's getting some IMAX screens this weekend. This is what IMAX looks like over the next two months:

Aug 18: Apes and Dunkirk

Aug 25: WW

Sep 1: Inhumans

Sep 8: It

Sep 15: ?

Sep 22: Kingsman

Sep 29: American Made and Kingsman

Wasted effort by FOX in my opinion. Too late in the film's run.
