this movie looks like total garbage.

Metacritic only 57

RT averages dropping.

runtime a weak 2 hours - source material is inadequate for a film solely about the joker. Mostly it is batman, with joker as a foil. This film does not work..

it’s from a publication that specifically grades movies in terms of how PC they are. That is just insanity.

I hate this too.

Horror movies have been getting reviews for years from “Common Sense Media” (or something) and some other parental publication. Their blurbs only comment on the level of violence and they rate it rotten.

So unfair. They’re not being objective. They’re following guidelines to suit their website.

MODERATION

NIRD

Constructive criticism, backed by primary sources and examples = good for healthy debates.

Blatant Baiting = Going to get the thread locked and warning points distributed.

Sigh

I don’t know if we’re still talking about reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but I just noticed something that really baffles me. So, as expected Mediaversity Reviews gave this movie a scathing review, but here’s the kicker, the critic who posted that particular review already wrote a review for the movie last month from a different publication, and it was a mildly positive review.

The same critic posted two separate reviews for the movie, one positive and one negative, and the latter gave the movie an “F” because it’s from a publication that specifically grades movies in terms of how PC they are. That is just insanity.

The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the Chappelle special shows to me most people dont give a shit about how PC a movie should be.

It seems that general audiences do not think the same than critics...

Looks like some media outlets are really butthurt that this is not only doing well but more hurtful for their ego it’s playing well to audiences. Non blue film checkbox folks are saying this was a really good movie and it seems to be eating up the folks like the time magazine reviewer, that David ehlrich, Dave Simon etc.

the best example is this guy. Wanted to ride the backlash to the movie and ended up failing to cover his tracks

I wonder if RT has noticed. If they do then they should remove him as a critic

The reason one review is negative and the other is positive is because the negative review is from a website that has admitted that it grades films not based on quality, but based on how inclusive and PC they are. In other words, a movie can be great from a technical standpoint, but if it isn’t inclusive enough, it will get a failing grade from the website. And yes, it’s absolutely ridiculous that such a publication is allowed on Rotten Tomatoes.

Do you actually understand how mediaversity works? The reviewer might like the movie as a film but still give it a shit mediaversity score.
