I don’t know about best score in the last 10 years, but as someone who does love movie scores (FOTR is one of my faves along with Requiem for a Dream, and I believe Man of Steel has one of the most underrated blockbuster scores of the last decade) I think Joker’s score is pretty damn good and should be nominated.

100% agree ~

Joker is such a memorable film, but the score hasn't registered whatsoever.

It was the worst part of the film, by far. So heavy handed and obvious, it actually hurt scenes that would have played better without any musical accompaniment.

Hopefully Joker takes home a few Oscars but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets completely snubbed. Unfortunately some people perceive it to not have the right politics so I could see that being an issue when it comes to Oscars.

I don't think it'll be snubbed. In fact, I think Phoenix has the Oscar in the bag.

Couldn't disagree more. For me, personally, the score complimented the film soooo, so well. It was perfect. Loved it!

"By far" is an exaggeration any way you slice it.

For me, the score is the best thing after Joaquin's performance and the cinematography.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge:

In her little bit of free time, she’d gone to see Joker, which she thought was “absolutely brilliant.” “I think the reason people got so uncomfortable is because it feels too true, too raw,” she said. “I was watching it and thinking to myself, God, if this came out a year into Obama’s time in office, I don’t think we’d be feeling as worried about it.

I like how everyone - celebrity-wise is saying this a month after release - it'smost telling that these individuals didn't post their opinions in the first weeks 😂

America was just as violent under Obama, not sure how it feels too real now. Probably just the media trying to associate this movie with unite the right (white) movement under the trump era, but this movie deals more with class and has nothing to do with race

The profits for this will be staggering even though they have to split it with Village Roadshow and Bron plus any deal with the talent.

On a technical level, the score is outstanding. But, more often than not, I didn't think it fit the movie. Definitely don't agree that it's the worst thing about it. I'd say the needle drops are actually worse than the score.
