So true the marketing done by Universal in OS is not upto the mark! I guess they are expecting USA to outgross OS??? 

Considering Cruise and his star power they could have done more to push this to OS audiences! 

I wonder if a movie like Wolf of Wall Street which is kinda  similar to AM in terms of Genre Biographical-Crime-Black Comedy! can gross close to 270m OS but this one will barely gross half of it!

Thats great! In Netherlands too it dropped by -18% should cross The Mummy based on 3rd and 4th week holds. 

 

Poland and Portugal are performing way better than JR2.

Apparently at the last minute it got pulled from the biggest theater chain in Mexico because of some dispute which really hurt it there. Also bigger drop in UK this weekend due to lots of competition. Opened ahead of JR2 in Italy but below in France, needs really good holds in France to match JR2. Movie really needs to break out somewhere to get to 100m, which probably wont happen.

Cant expect much from American Made in India as it is Clashing with a biggie down south (Major Market for Cruise) also considering its content it might do well in Metro cities (5-6 major cities).

 

But it has one advantage. Its releasing during Holiday weekend Fri-Monday 4 Day OW in some parts of India so that must help AM to capitalize as much as it can.

Italy numbers are good. It has crossed the lifetime figs of JR2 and based on 3rd week hold it can cross Mummys gross as well.

 

France had decent drop around 35%. Brazil ok drop again it has few more $$$ to cross JR 2 lifetime figs.

 

Not sure if Colombia gross is good or not since it has grossed 25% of The Mummy OW gross.

 

Say weekdays it might add 2-2.5m. It leads to 61M gross after this the major markets are Russia and Japan. Paraguay, Uruguay and TT are small markets they might pitch in with 500-600k. 

 

Not sure how this will fare in Russia since its an out n out american story. 

In Japan JR2 grossed 7.8M this can do 10m considering its WoM with leggy run. 

 

Without China im expecting 80-90M based on current trends.

Wiki states its 80M....Guess its gross budget. Including P&P the expense shouldn't cross 100m mark!

 

If NA breaks out with 100m (Best Scenario) then its a BE theatrically.

Average studio world releasing cost tend to be around 70m, but that one had a bit of an un-regular release pattern and at least domestic does not look like it will be on the expensive side, still should be above 100m in total cost.

Yes like I said, spent less than 2m in Louisiana, but because they still asked for tax credit for it, they still have to fill in their demand the movie total expenses.

 

40m on a 66m budget movie would be a massive rebate... probably significantly higher than that (50m would be closer).

Usually they have a list of expense that are accepted and some that are not accepted often bottom the lines actual expense in the state will be, but not above the line (director/writer/story/producer/main cast) expense and often you need to sales those tax rebates to someone (or exchange then to the state 85 cent on the dollar). Movie rarely get those maximum percentage on the total amount.

If thats the case it has to recoup its budget thru decent performance in USA. Since studios tend to get around 50-55% of the gross which is not the same in many countries except Japan where the share is above 55%.

 

American Made should gross around 80m OS and 50m USA for a decent gross.

If this is the case then 

USA 50m*0.55=27.5

OS 80m*0.40= 32

This amounts to 59.5 significantly higher than its net production budget!
