Jake Gittes Posted November 4, 2017 Share Posted November 4, 2017 CMBYN is a movie I expect to inspire a lot of passion, there won't be any accusations of it being cold/academic/self-conscious (like there were with Carol), which is why I see it getting a nod here over something stodgy like Darkest Hour or a well-made indie like Lady Bird. PTA would really need to deliver There Will Be Blood 2.0 to get in. Right now I think the 5th spot is between Peele and Baker (who I can totally see pulling a Benh Zeitlin), with Bigelow also being a distant but real possibility.
