IT vs HOMECOMING

Using a 5-10% Sat jump from true Friday and a 40-45% Sunday drop (which could be a bit optimistic depending on the hurricane and how last year behaved this sunday).

15.4 + 35.38 + 37.05 (+4.7%) + 29.20 (-21%) = 117.03 ... SMH

13.5 + 37.50 + 39.38 (+5.0%) + 21.66 (-45%) = 112.04 ... IT (+5%, -45%)

13.5 + 37.50 + 39.38 (+5.0%) + 23.63 (-40%) = 114.01 ... IT (+5%, -40%)

13.5 + 37.50 + 41.25 (+10.0%) + 23.69 (-45%) = 115.94 ... IT (+10%, -45%)

13.5 + 37.50 + 41.25 (+10.0%) + 24.75 (-40%) = 117.00 ... IT (+10%, -40%)

Outside of Kingsman, which is annoying me but at least okay because I wanna see it, American Assassin has been trailer stalking me hard, and it looks like a legit contender for the worst movie of this year or any year. What a wretched, putrid, generic piece of jingoistic garbage.

Such an amazing OD!

I grew up on the mini-series so i'm not surprised a new generation will fall in love with *IT* now

I just hope the sequel will be good as well, cause in the mini-series part II had none of the magic that part I with the children had.

I'm totally not surprised Fox News is one of the most prominent networks airing ads

I don't dislike part 2 but it could have been tons better. They are going to have to work on part 2 big time to make people care even 75% for it as much as the first part. That's a very tricky thing to accomplish.

Even beyond American Assassin being some Breitbart kill all the brown people propaganda it just looks like a terrible, terrible movie. That last line "no, it's just the beginning" is a symbol of why it's so fucking awful. Every line and setup is like the most generic, bad DTV version of an action movie possible.

I'm always in favor of practical effects vs cgi ones. I mean you look back at the original The Thing, and even today the practical effects (well maybe except the very last image of it when he was that big weird dinosaur/dog thing) used in the film stand up to me at least. The spider legged thing still creeps me the fuck out.

The effects on The Thing are the Mona Lisa of monster movies effects, nobody managed to do better since.

Rob Bottin nearly lost his mind on the set of the thing, nobody but him could do those effects probably.

Maybe I'll be wrong like I was with The Hitman's Bodyguard but I think American Assassin will flop.

It looks like a flop, but it has a lot of activity on social media. But someone here said it's because of o'brien fans. i didn't know he had so many.

Yeah I wouldn't take that activity too seriously because he has teen girl fanbase. Not saying it can't do okay though.
