Teen Titans Go! to the Movies | WB | July 27 2018 | Animated movie

Recommended Posts

Summary: It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies—everyone but the Teen Titans, that is! But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation, and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream. But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously super villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!

USA Today article on the plot, Kristen Bell's character and more (Will Arnett is playing Slade Wilson/Deathstroke while Bell is playing a superhero blockbuster director)

Quote

The animated film offers kid-friendly comedy, superhero cameos and world-saving high jinks, but also some meta-commentary on Hollywood’s obsession with comic-book do-gooders.

Going from 15-minute episodes to a full-length film also means bigger musical numbers and A-list guest stars like Kristen Bell, who voices superhero filmmaker du jour Jade Wilson.

The group’s manic leader Robin (Scott Menville), of Batman and Robin fame, wants to step out of the Dark Knight’s shadow and be seen as more than just a sidekick. He has the idea to seek out Wilson and give the group their big break.

The Aquaman joke was good, but I'm not sure about this. It can't be worse than Emoji, so that's a plus.

Lol at the dislikes on youtube. XD

It has dislikes because of MRAs. They love their "dark and gritty" garbage, and are mad that this (the more popular version) is getting a movie while the original "grown up" version, doesn't.

DC really screwed themselves by giving MRAs "gritty" versions of their characters.

What does MRA have to do with that?

Well, laying that squarely on MRAs isn't particularly fair. Everyone wanted "dark, gritty, mature" after the Nolan trilogy.

But just as with "dark, gritty and mature", there's a right and a wrong way to do "cute, silly, and fun". From what I've seen of this series my sympathies lie more with the detractors.

Because these are the same people who obsess over everything dark and gritty. Want the Snyder cut, hate the female ghostbusters, etc etc.

Normal people don't downvote youtube videos that have no affect on their life. MRA trolls do.
