so the studio pays $2,089 for each print per screen?  then I am guessing the theater buys this print?

I think prints is a distributor expense and just loan to the theater usually, that why studio had a P&A (print and advertising) expense for their movie distribution.

I would imagine that the studio get most of them back and send them around to other theaters over time.

21.1M Weekend, 46% drop

This is looking like a really easy win for Kingsman this weekend with the way AM is tracking.

I think slightly optimistic on Wed/Fri, but yeah I think Kingsman repeats at #1 here

Fantastic and surprising for Jeepers Creepers 3.

Wonder if it’ll get a Uk cinema release now.

They could actually do this with other other horror films, like Leatherface and Cult of Chucky. Gives hardcore fans a chance to see it in cinemas, builds awareness and buzz and surely helps drive streaming/sales in the long run.

Following how packed last night's showings were, Jeepers Creepers 3 will also be shown again next Wednesday (October 4).

Bad idea. This franchise always had a fan base (as showed by these strong numbers), but the WOM with them is toxic, by the time that it come back next week, the WOM will be already spread and nobody will show up anymore.

That's why they're milking it for all its worth (I saw a ton sell-outs last night), short of giving it a wide release nationwide (which didn't happen most likely because of protests against the director).

Any chance Kingsman will get $100m?

This weekend it does close to $70 million. Weekly it does $72-$73 million. Third weekend makes over $80 million. And makes over  $90 by Halloween. You could have a November push, second-run theater push from Thanksgiving to New Years. $102 million total ends its run on January 11th, 2018.

i doubt it misses a 2.55x multiplier.

100-105 is very likely, 105-110 is possible and 95-98 probably the 3rd likeliest scenario (using 98 cause north of 98 usually ends up becoming a 100-105 thing as studios give a push and/or fudge it)

Edit:

If K2 does 17m this weekend (56.4% drop from 39.0m)...

2.35 Wed (-39.5%)

2.25 Thu (-4.25%)

5 Fri (+122%)

7.25 (+45%)

4.75 (-34%)

17m 2nd weekend / 67.1 cume

...then all the remaining weekends combined give it

9 + 5.5 + 3 + 2 + 1.25 + 0.75 + 1 (rest including dollar bump) = 22.5m

Weekdays are 60-65% of the weekends in this period, so that gives 13.5-14m in rest of the weekdays combined for

67 + 22.5 + 13.5 = 103m dom.

Can't see much below 103m with a 17m 2nd weekend, certainly not below 100m.
