Winter and China is a fun time isn't it? All the nonsense of never knowing when something will be released makes it a bit of a chore trying to make a preseason question that doesn't screw you over by a film just not being released that would have made all the money (Spiderman :( )

 

So here is an attempt to fix that a little with an SOTM bent on China.

 

Here are 10 films:

 

Blade Runner*

Geostorm

Thor Ragnorak

Justice League

John Woo's Manhunt

 

Murder on the Orient Express

The Last Jedi

Coco

Jumanji

Paddington 2

 

*I believe the release date is in November, Blade Runner is not eligible for any other aspect of the Winter Game as it has a pre-Oct 20th release Domestic.  

 

You can pick as many or as few of these films as you wish and for each one, just predict how much it will make in China during the run of the game. 

 

(All the below is in US dollars)

 

If you are within 5 Million of the total gross score 20,000 points

If you are within 10 Million of the total gross score 15,000 points

If you are within 15 Million of the total gross score 10,000 points

If you are within 25 Million of the total gross score 5,000 points

 

If you are more than 25M outside of the total gross lose 5,000 points

If you are more than 40M outside of the total gross lose 10,000 points

If you are more than 60M outside of the total gross lose 20,000 points 

If you are more than 100M outside of the total gross lose 30,000 points

 

If you predict at least 3 films and all predictions are within 15 Million, Get a 2,000 point bonus per film. 

If you predict at least 3 films and all predictions are within 10 Million, Get a 5,000 point bonus per film. 

If you predict at least 3 films and all predictions are within 5 Million, Get a 10,000 point bonus per film. 

 

* If a film does not get released before March 5th, that film is void from the question and no wins / losses are incurred.

 

* If a film gets scheduled for release between March 1st and 4th, Players who predicted for that film have the choice to opt out of their prediction in thread up until February 27th. You Cannot change the prediction, you can merely cancel it or keep it.  

 

Deadline is the start of the game at 11:59pm, Thursday October 26th.

 

You can Abstain for 3,000 points.
