Lego Movie 2 is gonna flop. All these Lego flicks look exactly the same. Only a matter of time before it got stale

Unless you have a crystal ball, you can't say The Lego Movie 2 will flop without seeing any material

The lack of general audience acceptance and love for Aardman (and Laika and Cartoon Saloon etc)  is criminal.

Unfortunately stop-motion / claymation has failed to catch-on with audiences which is a shame.

The first Lego Movie exploded because the stars aligned perfectly for it. The first critically well-received movie to come after Frozen, a release date that was perfectly positioned (not too soon after Frozen, not too late, and a month with minimal competition) and Everything is Awesome! was incredibly catchy and played into the popular combo of breakout song/hit animated movie post Let It Go/Frozen.

If Lego 2 somehow gets these same factors or similar factors going for it, it could be big like the original. Otherwise near Lego Batman numbers would be fine.

Yeah, and considering Lego1's budget was 60m, LegoBat 80m and Ninjago 70m, I don't think Lego2's will be much more than 90-100m.

At 90-100m prod budget it's nearly impossible Lego2 won't be profitable even if it falls below expectations.

I imagine some of the success of Lego movie was the interest/curiosity to see that asthetic, a movie based on Lego animated, only the first movie can have that factor helping it, would be normal for the rest to all do well below. Not much of a point to make more than one (I am probably not the only one to only have seen the Lego movie among all of those)
