JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE | 557.6 M overseas ● 962.1 M worldwide

Recommended Posts

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic:  $365,855,215    41.4%
Foreign:  $517,586,260    58.6%

Worldwide:  $883,441,475

OS Weekend was 8.21 million. Add [2 x 8th Weekend] from the rest of the OS run, 30 million from the domestic BO & 10 million from Japan and the world-wide total becomes [883.44+(2x8.21)+30+10] = 939.86 million.

The domestic projection is rather pessimistic considering what it has been doing so far. So 940m+ looks like a good bet atm.

Out of all the movies to bring Sony back into the game. Truly remarkable.

There is still a small chance at a billion right? (with a breakout in Japan).

Not even with a breakout in Japan is 1b possible it seems. 10m usd would be normal and 20m would be great (IT brokeout and did around that). Even giving Jumanji 30m 1b doesn't seem possible:

Even giving 415 dom beating Wonder Woman,

a generous 22.5 more OS-J after an 8.2 weekend for 517.5 + 22.5 = 540

and 30 J,

415 + 540 + 30 = 985

Jumanji 2 was hit hard this weekend. We don't have any weekend estimate yet but it made 1.34 million over the last 7 days. 50% of that is 675k which is down 79% from last weekend (3.202m). This puts 640m OS-Japan out of reach. 950 million is still possible with 10m+ from Japan. But since the domestic ceiling keeps going up every weekend, 950m might not be a close shave after all.

J2 will become Sony's #4 of all time in Int'l markets by overtaking SM:H when Japan comes into the fray. It'll be behind Skyfall, Spectre & SM3 only. Could catch up with SM3 if J2 can snag 17m+ from Japan but it's still up in the air.

J2 needs to clear 956m to rank #40 in all time world-wide chart leapfrogging Hobbit 3. I think it'll happen. Fingers crossed.

Domestic:  $393,139,443    42.3%
Foreign:  $536,866,473    57.7%

Worldwide:  $930,005,916

The OS weekend figure is 2.154 million. It's down just 32.73% from last weekend. The weekdays brought in 1.05 million. 1.5x11th weekend will get J2's OS total to 540 million. Japan will have to deliver a bit over 14.3 million for J2 to cross SM3 for #3 OS of all time for Sony. The 1st paragraph of my previous post looks a bit silly now, doesn't it??

I was thinking that 2012 is also Sony movie. It's already over 541 mln without Japan so it has big chance to win with sm3 OS.
