Correction:want someone else to pay higher taxes..

young people don't care to work extra for free for future causes.

they should be willing to donate more then older generations, at least in America I think that is where their heads are at.

poor people wanted older rich people to pay for their SS, but I think older rich people don't like lazy, or are jealous about something.  War-torn too!

We all have to be busy!

there is probably easy ways to make everyone rich in America, hopefully.

Me: Huh. I got a few hours to spare before I need to do anything. Might as well watch a movie, but which one to choose? I could watch Hereditary, I've been meaning to check that out for a while. Or I could finally get around to watching A Star is Born, as I meant for ages. Or heck, I could see Leave no Trace to see if it's as good as people keep making it out to be. I have so many great options to choose...

Five minutes later.

Me: *watching Slender-Man* WHY DID I PICK THIS?!

My nephew is thirteen, and honestly a little shit.  I love him, but he is.  My mom said to "just give him a $100".  And I was like, No. Lol.

Should’ve given him the Christmas candle.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Merry Christmas eve unto all!

I share the same sentiment!  Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and a Happy Holiday season to everyone:)!

PS - Since it's Christmas Eve here, I should mention it's one of my favorite nights as a parent.  Lots of Christmas carols and a Christmas story at Church, followed by TV Christmas specials and cookies/milk for Santa, and then an EARLY child bedtime, and an evening with the spouse relaxing with an Amaretto sour (my choice this year - last year, it was a Chocolate Pretzel Martini:), and decorating and preparing to see bright smiles in the morning (and a day off for me all day tomorrow:).  I actually love Christmas Eve at home as much as Christmas day:)...

Merry Christmas folks. The last five or six months have been just a deep dark fog of depression, failure and horniness, and EVERYTHING in my life sucks, but it feels really nice to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol again.

I feel ya man. Hang in there. Not doing so great myself.

I was literally just thinking about you the other night when the weekend thread turned into a throwback to the good old days :) How has school been going?

School's great! Looks like I'll get my BA right on schedule, by 2020, that is.

And I have been considering an actual BOT comeback instead of posting every six months. Twitter just bums me out sometimes.

Get off of Twitter. We need your takes again. What are you favorite movies of the year so far?

Nice, another one on the First Man train. I know some on here are pretty meh about it, but I think it's Chazelle's best to date. As for First Reformed, idk. I like a lot of what it has to say, but the ending was too out there for me.

First Man OWNS. Those rocket scenes are the scariest shit I've seen in ages.

Did you catch El Royale and Sorry to Bother You? Both are in my top 5 rn (or something like that). Idk how big Can You Ever Forgive Me?'s foreign rollout has been, but that's also up there for me.

I liked Sorry to Bother You as a socialist polemic, with actually some pretty solid observations on class and labor in the 2010s, but it had too much wackiness and ambitious-first-feature nonsense for my taste.

Well goddamn, I’m sorry to hear that. It’s great to see you here, though.
