Is anyone else watching the Grammys? I am. It started with Camila Cabello singing her hit song Havana with Ricky Martin, Young Thug, and someone else.

 

I don't know why I care. All the indie bands I like were snubbed.

Grammys update:

 

Shawn Mendes was playing In My Blood on a piano that looked like it was on fire.

 

Then he picked up the guitar and walks up to the main-stage.

 

Miley Cyrus joins him and sings In My Blood with him.

[SLAM!]

"Shallow" (Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper) wins Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

 

She thanks God first in her speech.

 

She says that she is proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues, and she gives an emotional, empowering speech about it.

Janelle Monae performs Make Me Feel. Her trademark sass, her trademark glam, is exuded from the costume design, set design, choreography, and, of course, the music itself.

(@IronJimbo btw I thought you might want to know that an Alita: Battle Angel trailer just aired during the Grammys commercial break. I think that could prove to be a good decision.)

"This Is America" wins the award.

 

Donald Glover / Childish Gambino was not there to give a speech or accept the award.

Post Malone performs an acoustic version of one of his songs. He provides a compelling argument as to why he deserves the position he's received in the music industry.

 

Then the rapping begins. He performs "Rockstar".

 

After this, Post Malone picks up an electric guitar and performs "Dark Necessities" with the Red Hot Chili Peppers; this proves to be a rather creative pairing, in a good way.

Now, I know why I cared about watching the Grammys.

 

There was a TV Spot for Aladdin.

 

This Ad showed a first look of Will Smith as The Genie.

 

I'll go and post this in the Aladdin thread, too.

More Grammys:

 

H.E.R. performs her song "Hard Place". She's already one the Best R&B performance Grammy.

 

This is one of my favorite performances of the night so far. She's playing guitar and singing; the song is an excellent blend of genres. She's got people playing the violin and viola behind her. It's beautiful.

Best Country Album:

 

Kacey Musgraves unsurprisingly wins for her album Golden Hour. Her's was the only one up for the Album of the Year award.

 

(I'm gonna go play Smash Bros. I'll probably miss quite a few things. If you want something to blame, blame Cardi B.)
