He started but then got sidetracked by a little side project. 

 

When he came back to complete his doctorate there hadn’t actually been much further research in his original field of study, interstellar dust.

I think that's a great way of protesting. You have to shock people in order to make them care about what's happening, and police killing black people is an urgent problem. I think everyone should start doing things like that. These killings need to stop.

wearing fur is a hazardous way of protesting though.  it could be like a famous person protesting opium-shamers by sticking a needle in their arm on camera to influence a stir

finally caught up w/ season 3 of the good place just cos i spent all day working from home, waiting for a package that didn't arrive. anyway i'd swear S3E9 starts with a LOST reference. michael mckean's character in GP introduction is pretty similar to Desmond's right down to him listening to mama cass elliott.
