Right now the Trump impeachment trial is pretty much taking up all the oxygen in the room.

But this will not be forgotten.  he is in POlanski territory now.

Worse

Polanski, one time under a strong influence and mentally ~ shattered, at a party where an average person would not expect an underage guest to be vs someone who was then not only sober, the boss of them, and in enough power to destroy careers for good, doimg it over and over again

Aus Gov't: You cannot provide free links to Australian news websites.

Facebook: Ok, we'll stop linking to those sites then.

Aus Gov't: No, wait, we want you to link to them, but you have to pay for the privilege.

Facebook: Nah, we'll pass.

That sort of thing has happened in many countries, an not just with Facebook.

E.g. there was a longstanding issue between Google and the media in the EU. Google made use of any sort of media for their Google news area, without paying any money for it. Various entitities weren't too pleased with Google benefitting from something they didn't have any rights to, while not giving anything to those who actually worked for it.

Both sides do have a point in such a discussion. On the one hand, it is rather unfair that a company like Google can just use the work of other people to earn money, without giving any of it to those who actually write the news. But at the same time, the press does benefit from the exposure they gain at such an important hub as Google, so it's not like they don't get anything out of it. Hence the desire to get compensation and keep Google linking to those stories. That being said, Google can kind of control who gets this exposure, which allows them to influence who gets the most exposure ouf of it.

After quite a few years, they've finally settled the issue, I think.

Pedro's tweet is nothing lol. I bet you the people trying to make #FirePascal a thing couldn't be bothered to watch even a minute of The Mandalorian in the first place.

Carano was also not cancelled (lol being fired for posting racist/transphobic/anti-Semitic/spreading false information about election fraud tweets isn't being cancelled, it's being fired like anyone else would for the same stuff regardless of their line of work) when she landed a new project in less than 48 hours (even if going from Star Wars to...Ben Shapiro...in two days is one of the more extreme examples of falling from the A-list to the Z-list overnight in a long time). According to reports she was warned multiple times. Hard to feel she received the shit end of the stick by being ousted when she clearly didn't want King Mickey's money anymore. The entertainment industry doesn't seem to have much patience anymore for troublesome people with all the other fallouts from controversy we've seen in recent weeks.
