Would like to watch Artemis Fowl but it's not on my local streaming service (who only have some D+ content atm instead of all like I expected). Not sure if I should get a month's subscription of D+ again just for this movie. I mean it's cheaper than renting a movie on PVOD and I'd like to finish watching a couple of Disney shows I didn't finish yet.

Edit: Oh wait, it's coming out on my local streaming service later today (the 13th).

That new Dave Chappelle video about George Floyd is so good. Powerful stuff.

really good, but really strange at the same time (saying who cares about what he has to say, that he will continue to shut up about it while talking a long time talking about it on the world's biggest platform release just after saying that,...)

yeah it's coming on the 13th on OSN, we're also getting Parasite and a couple of MCU movies as well later this month.

guess Parasite is coming here because it was streaming on Hulu and that was  Disney based?

I don't think I'll watch Artemis Fowl even for the trainwreck value at this point. One can't say Disney isn't a financially smart studio: first they put every sure bet you could think of in the last year before the one where the world fell apart, and then they sent what might be their biggest critical turd in over a decade to Disney+ to save it the embarrassment of bombing miserably in theaters (this thing likely would've made The Nutcracker and the Four Realms look like a certified blockbuster in comparison).

Today is the day-and-date anniversary of Jurassic World's batshit crazy opening day five years ago. Say what you will about the movie itself (I quite enjoyed it), but watching the projections for Friday and then the weekend just continue to go up and up and up from already high expectations was one of the wildest number-watching experiences in the 15 years I've been posting online.

I seem to recall at least one person was aware of the scope of its spending blow up...B)

I mean, it makes their streaming service look worse, lol

I mentioned in the thread for that Peter Jackson Beatles documentary they're putting out that Disney+ is basically becoming their dumping place for stuff they have no faith in. Not that it really matters much since instant access to the Disney library was always the big selling point to most subscribers.

They have no faith in Hamilton?

They probably did but as a recording of the play it was always gonna come across as a glorified Met Opera deal that was gonna be really limited in appeal compared to an actual movie adaptation (which will likely make a ton of cash whenever it inevitably gets made). I'm sure it'll be playing in theaters as a Fathom Events thing eventually like that recording of Newsies has done many times.

I was actually watching the original Jurassic Park for the first time in a while the other day. It still holds up as a great movie even after all these years.

I also just re-watched it in chunks while doing work around the house the last two days. It’s still wild to consider that Spielberg had that and Schindler’s List in the same year.

Idk, I thought it'd have a lot of appeal because watching it in cinemas would be the closest to the watching the actual thing and it's a play that seems to be in very high demand.

It would appeal the most to those who wanted to see the original cast (a number of whom have gone on to become recognizable names since departing) but that crowd would more likely wait to stream it tbh.

Lmao, why is the Last of Us 2 discourse still so toxic? First it was "this game is going to get bad reviews" and now since it got amazing reviews, it's "the game has you kill dogs so its misery porn".

If you think the conversation is toxic now,  just wait a week. It's been the biggest incel/sjws ruin everything target since the "kiss" on the Left Behind dlc. It's gonna get user review bombed next week and even if/when it breaks sales records and win all the awards these people will still make their own alternate reality on their online corner. Reviews and awards are bought, sales are fake, people who like it are not real gamers etc. Just type Last Jedi on ytb and see what comes up😂

Lmao, AT&T has literally been the worst thing to happen to Warner in a long time: https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/12/att-seeks-sale-for-warner-gaming-unit-could-fetch-4-billion.html

I guess this means that Batman game and Harry Potter game aren't happening. And for 4 billion? AT&T seems so desperate atm lol.
