I'm not entirely sure, but is the damage fixable? I know it's still "not the same" if new material is put up to fix it (especially the spire) but how bad did the damage get?

Some materials are not available anymore

We will have to wait and see, but it will be very very expensive. It is really very huge, but per support bow-walls, the fine pattern in the wall-window area... its also very open to nature.

One reason they couldn't use helicopters with the water thingies under them is, that the structure is ... special.

Its light, open work, a bit like lace.

You have to find material that wont sit later to another position, that matches in movements during wind or temp changes in the same way as the old material does so no breaks appear where water will transfer into, it has to give away water in it (I have no idea how that its called) too

Alone the wood, for that kind of settled buildings you need thick wood that got stored over man decades, where to even get a similar wood nowadays?

Every work is difficult per you do not really get anything simple anywhere, try to imagine doing a lot manual too.

I can't confirm the veracity of this person's knowledge or accuracy, but it seems at least somewhat positive:

It is a blessing the 16 statues were already removed for the work (not sure which ones he means).

But reuter/fire-deparment said a while ago one fire-fighter is seriously injured.

I guess he either didn't knew (a bit strange as in the news) or he meant the people visiting the mass

Where he as an ex-history student was wrong in a big way: alone the 'forrest' The Futurist also pointed out to, is a huge loss, the big window and the other ones as well.

It looks like it could have been way worse, but 'almost nothing was lost today' is in my POV very naive or too focused on his former specialization.

Not sure how he as an ex-student of history judges what, but a historical architect, and some other varying fields will probably not agree to that wording.

How he already will know that I am not sure about neither, as far as I know the fire-fighters are still in it (as usual in such situations), before an art specialists can look into it more closely they have to secure and open for them first.

Water by the fire-fighters is always a problem for a time, fingers crossed it wont cause structural damages again (it was open to nature in the past)

I watched the first episode of No Good Nick.

The child actors are unbearable as usual for kids shows.

But the editing is great :shades: as well as the adult actors. This guy from Stranger Things and The Big Bang Theory is such a likeable actor.

And the cliffhanger :o

I legit laughed-out-loud.

Sure, it was a quick chuckle/half-laugh, but it was out loud. ;)

BTW, with all the Disney+ SW shows ramping up Tele, your friends from that TLJ documentary had better be putting in a good word for you through the grapevine.  It's the least they can do for you for stealing your opportunity getting the gig instead of you. ;)

So for one of my courses I haven't received my final grades yet, even though the university policy for receiving them was 4 days ago now. I emailed the professor 3 days ago (when they were one day late) and haven't heard a reply. He doesn't have "office hours during exam period" but I went to go check his office yesterday and he wasn't there. Don't know what to do lmao... when am I gonna get my grade for this course

Paris Notre Dame, acc radio news here all big sized drawings are gone.

All not big-sized and at the same time important drawings got rescued.

The Thrown Crown and all the other ones in the feretory got rescued too.

Lots of ppl/fire-fighters risked a lot, to get as much art treasures out as possible. Only as the roof started to break the fire department stopped it and used a robot to continue

Two police men/women (?) are injured too, but not badly

Fire out at 10 in the morning, experts now have to look into, if the building is secure enough to go into it again, they say its in danger to still fall down, as the stone parts under the roof are full of water, its a similar to a sponge kind of stone, picked for their low weight, that are now very heavy

First estimates speak about decades needed rebuild time

Billionaire family Pinault (Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga) gives 100m Euro, LVMH / family Arnault (Moët Hennessy, Louis Vuitton) gives 200m Euro, 60m Euro per Paris city and surrounding regions.

Wont be enough by very far
