I will give you a perfect example at the local sikh temple I am apart off. A person at the end of the month spent days photocopying cheques one by one.  So we got a 200 dollar cheque scanner saving days of work and getting funds ready to go out faster.

See that's more logistical though.  Or actually hiring people who know how to streamline things. Any outfit that suddenly gets hit with far more donations than they are used to are going to go through teething problems. They're called growing pains for a reason after all.

It's probable that they didn't need to be that streamlined before.  Might have even been a waste of resources, depending on just how big they were at the time.

Now though?  Sure.  But I would personally give them some time to see if they can catch up with the tsunami or not before saying they're just another charity tangled by ineffiency.

True i think people have this idea you give money to charity and right away its being used which is not true.

Played about 5 hrs of TLOU 2 so far (only about 3 hrs of the story though since there's thus huge semi-open world section that I spent a long time exploring) and this game is already an emotional ride. I'm hearing the 2nd half of the game has had divisive reactions. Considering that they already made some bold choices in the first couple hours, I wonder how the 2nd half is more divisive than what I already played through.

Also it's clearly pushing the PS4 hardware to its limits. I encountered a lot of FPS drops.

I won't be getting it till later in the year but the discourse about the game is so toxic. On par with the Last Jedi.

It's so fucking dumb. Even the "misery porn" criticisms haven't rung true so far. I've had an incredibly relaxing and fun time exploring the areas and just listening to the main characters have random conversations (which, holy crap, feel Before Trilogy level authentic) with each other. I've only played about 1/6th of the game atm and the game could become darker as the story progresses but I think there's been a lot of levity and breezy moments so far.

This white run organization allegedly collected $35 million, and only used $200k to actually bail out protesters.

Those of us in the real Black grassroots have been getting folks out of jail on our own.

This is why we have to stop the coopt#NoAntiBlackRacism https://twitter.com/MNFreedomFund/status/1272726417650995202

And this is why you have to thoroughly vet who you give money to...I feel bad for everyone who gave money expecting it to have an immediate effect.  Right now, it's not going to...and it may never, since this was only outed accidentally by the fund itself...who has finally stopped accepting donations it wasn't using...

I wasn't expecting an immediate effect. But that doesn't mean the donation is wasted or bad or that every protestor is going to be helped.

Not taking any sides on this until more facts are out, but when something gets a much publicity as this movement has, you know, human nature being what is, sooner or later a few con men and scam artist will try to make a buck off of it.

This is what movie premieres are gonna look like in the COVID-19 era. Excited to Pattinson and Nolan posing in front of a drive-in screen with face masks on.

As an Indian where do i start here...

In the community I have heard conversations about this and its caused a huge rift.

Some people believe that Indian people  in North America are like "uncle toms' and pretty much play the "white mans game' and as a result have done rather well on avg while black people have been left behind. This is seen as a legacy of Colonization from India where Indian people sort of feel the absolute need to get approval from "the white man'.

So the issue is Indians have generally benefited from "being fine with the status quo" and a lot of people are fine with that. However some people feel its time to get more radical like other marginalized communities. While a lot of people are like we dont need to be like that as we dont face the same level of racism and we generally do fine for ourselves. Others feel we should do more and and  ally with black people.

I do agree a lot of anti black feelings exists in the Indian community especially by elders and parents and that is something the young generation should change. I have to check or correct many idiotic assumptions people in the community  had about black people

HOWEVER, in the the time of COVID 19 no brown person is really going to go "oh i wont take the promotion because I dont conform to whiteness".

Like i got a promotion this month, I am not thinking about that lol

There is a problem with racism in the Indian-American community though. Like among a lot of older Indians and some of the younger generation as well there is racism/contempt/resentment towards both Hispanic people and (especially) black people. I feel pretty lucky that my parents aren't like this but it definitely exists in the community. That said, the "complicity" thing is really, really stupid. I think it's really dumb to keep calling people "complicit in white supremacy" just for existing in a world where they have advantages, even if they haven't done anything to support white supremacy. That is no way to win allies to the cause. Also, holding people in the community responsible for not "fixing" the racism in their community is just ridiculous. As if one person could correct an entire ethnicity. Like my Indian parents and my Indian-American friends are not racist and are pretty educated on most political issues, wtf am I supposed to do about "personally addressing the anti-blackness in the community"? Honestly the whole thing feels like Indian-Americans with racist parents/families/social groups assuming that everyone else shares their experience, either that or virtue signaling.

Then, in India, you get into the whole problem of "THe Untouchables".

In this day and age, there is no excuse for trying to maintain a freaking  caste system.
