So the idea of a Virtual Emmys is using shots of the audience from previous ceremonies to convey that there's a crowd there when there isn't? I'm gonna go with "nope" to this.

It's a weird ceremony. Hopefully they keep it to 2 hours instead of trying to stretch it needlessly.

Yeah this ceremony is going past 3 hours for sure. Hopefully this being the first awards show since the pandemic will give them an idea of what to do and not do by the time the March/April ceremonies get here.

Getting Comedy Series (and pretty all the awards there on that side) out of the way this early in the show? I guess it was easier to do this in order for all the nominees to tune in at the same time.

Quibi won an Emmy, though, for Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy from Hamilton). It made news because her dad also won this year, for This Is Us.
