Except the Joker appeared in Gotham, so this embargo might be loosening/lifting in special events.  Or perhaps more likely, WB/DC is trying something different since the "old way" wasn't working as well as they liked.

No it was a completely different criminal that just happened to have One Bad Day and later fell into a vat at Ace Chemicals and went by the alias Mr. J at the end.  TOTALLY DIFFERENT, HONEST!!

Gotham’s producers tried really really hard to get the joker name used but wb declined them, so he’s not *legally* the joker

Even so, I wouldn't count that as a "Discount joker". 

 

Even if they go back to the Mr J moniker or something like it, I still wouldn't be surprised at Mark Hamill making an appearance if Kevin Conroy is.  And given Mark Hamill has already been in the Arrowverse as two separate incarnations of The Trickster, seeing him as a version of *cough* "Mr. J" *cough* isn't exactly a stretch.

And likely a large portion of that Suicide number was also a Suicide that used a gun.

 

That’s fairly significant, and all of those others get constant attention and fundraisers for awareness and solutions.

40 million get it, 500-600k get hospitalized, 35 to 60k die during a typical season (last year 80k was a record).

 

But in that record year, 90% of the death were people above 65.

 

A bit like prostate cancer versus other cancer, the age of the death do matter a lot, because at the end everyone die of something, death toll by itself isn't indicative of an health problem by itself.

 

The more people die of Handgun shooting in a regular weekend than there was of assault rifle this weekend is a good point when come time to think about the issue and regulation.

During some flu season it can be over 1,000/1,500, 300 is an yearly average.
