I guess Pacific Rim 2 and try to catch up on some other films. Um, it's Affirm Films, not Pure Flix... (Kidding, of course... the two are very similar...) The films by Affirm Films (including Fireproof, Courageous, Soul Surfer, Heaven is for Real, and All Saints) consistently have more legitimacy as actual films while the films by Pure Flix (the God's Not Dead trilogy, I'm Not Ashamed, Same Kind of Different as Me), rarely have filmmaking merit. Regardless, both companies have begun to develop a certain repetitious style of film for themselves, in the same vein as companies like A24 and Bleecker Streer have grounded themselves in a type/style/niche/flavor of film that is all their own. JB33
Thinking of seeing this tomorrow. Nothing else this weekend interests me.
SLAM!
It's official. With an 80% certified Rotten Tomatoes score, Unsane is the only film releasing wide this week that has secured a fresh RT. Midnight Sun (0%), Pacific Rim: Uprising (currently 45%) Paul, Apostle of Christ (currently 25%), and Sherlock Gnomes (TBA) were all at least presumably unable to achieve that. For the people that care about seeing the best film they can, that makes Unsane look very accomplished. Such an occurrence certainly can't hurt its gross! JB33
Thoroughly enjoyed it! Claire Foy was awesome and I liked that the scary/creepy element is 2 pronged. There are 2 different scary scenarios here.
antovolk
Foy is so fantastic in this but feels like Sod is trolling with this film...he's taking 'shot on iPhone' to the utmost cliche level, like we know that you can come up with something more traditionally cinematic. But he expertly balanced that very very very cheap-ish visual and musical aesthetic with some real tension and dread.

Maybe it matches Solaris' unadjusted opening (6.8M)
