In estimates this morning, Ragnarok led all films in regular release yesterday with $2.4M for a second week’s take of $70.6M and a two week running cume of $225.6M. This weekend, Ragnarok, will easily eclipse the domestic lifetime cume of last year’s Doctor Strange from Marvel which ended its run at $232.6M. Ragnarok is projected to rake in north of $30M+ this weekend despite Justice League‘s presence in the marketplace.

20th Century Fox’s Murder on the Orient Express drove an estimated $37.9M in its first week with a second place take yesterday of $1.79M. The Kenneth Branagh-directed title is igniting its older female fanbase and is expected to ease 40% in weekend two for $17.1M. Ten-day total by Sunday should be around $55M. Paramount’s Daddy’s Home 2 made $1.16M yesterday for a week’s estimated tally of $35.8M. The PG-13 family comedy is looking at a 45% dip for $16.3M in weekend 2 for a running 10 day total of $52M.

I posted in the other thread, but the supers are killing each other.  That's an 18% drop for Thor, which isn't good...

2.4 for Thor would be 17.7% fall from Wednesday and 65.7% WoW fall.

DS for reference fell 15.4% from Wednesday and 65% WoW. So its following DS pretty closely. That number is just fine.

That 30m number for the weekend however is just insane. It's gonna be about 22-23 for a 60% fall, again in line with DS

You know people gotta spin something else to make certain things look better. I think it’s part of the bargaining stage of grief.

IMO the smaller movie should have moved 😉

I remember I was worried for Thor when it got moved from July to the November date with JL 2 weeks after, but I was also kinda relieved it’s not Black Panther first solo outing that could potentially face JL instead.

But then @aabattery showed me the light with his Ragnarok > 300M Dom club.

BP performance sight unseen, the release date move turned out pretty good in the end for Marvel.
