pinocchio
Up didn't look exciting to me, at all. Still it made big numbers.I think they badly undersold Up with their trailers which made me underpredict it badly. So, regarding Brave I just wait and see...Right now it's just "meh" for me but who knows....
lab276
Animated movies are frequently released that late in Germany.

A Marvel Fanboy
Pixar's Brave just bombed in China, with opening day pulling in a harsh 2M (estimated) yuan ($0.3M) from about 1,500 screens, which is just less than one sixth (16%) of the OD of MAD3. Looks even $10M is not happening for it.Brave now ranks only at #5 on the daily box office chart, far behind THG (2nd week), Mad 3 (3nd week), MIB3 (5nd week) and a local film.Brave opened here on June 19th. A Marvel Fanboy
TS3 was the third biggest foreign animation film in China, only behind KFP in 2008 and IA3 in 2009. Now TS3 HAS been #6, since MAD3 already made about 20M in 2 weeks. (Also there was maga KFP2 and hit RIO in 2011). A Marvel Fanboy
Brave in Asia (Japan except) looks not that promising ... may even miss 300M OS.
lab276
Asia isn't the only continent. It should do pretty good in Europe.
A Marvel Fanboy
Europe will be dominated by IA4 and Mad3 ...
lab276
Brave is getting released in August in the important European markets, compared to early July for IA4. Madagascar 3 doesn't get released until October in Germany and the UK.They've spaced it out sufficiently enough that they won't affect each other much. Rudolf
Tangled and Brave should be about the same magnitude. Could be interesting to see where Disney is king and where Pixar rules.I think Europe wil be mostly Disney.
lab276
I think it'll be at the level of Tangled in Germany. Hopefully it gets over 4m admissions. Edited June 22, 2012 by lab276

And TS3 was just released in a weak year, TS2 sold 2.9m tickets and TS1 sold 2.6m tickets. Edited June 22, 2012 by lab276
