Death on the Nile | Feb 11, 2022 | Branagh returns as star/director/moustache model | Armie Hammer is sadly in this | Will release in China

Murder was a mess. Not even a fun romp or anything. At least 2/3 of the cast wasted, terrible effects, pointless action bits, no atmosphere, Branagh playing Poirot as a buffoon, above all no real recognition of why mysteries fundamentally are interesting and how to best engage an audience with one. Just a pile-up of flashy... stuff. I haven't read Death on the Nile so maybe the story there is much better but I'm still not holding my breath that Branagh will bring out its strengths.

Yea the weirdest thing about Murder to me is that there seems to be no actual joy or mystery in the "detecting" scenes. Sure everyone knows the twist but I've never seen a mystery handled with less suspense.

I didn't know the twist and didn't find the movie very suspenseful. I did enjoy it though.

Not sure how Branagh could have this and Artemis Fowl out in 2019.

Depends when Artemis Fowl shoots, if it's Spring or Summer then Death on the Nile could in theory shoot from late November or January and still make it for a November release.

While i enjoyed the first,Bond or not,i can't see how this will survive WW2.It's not like the reaction to the first one was out-of-this-world great.

you cannot fight the Nolan, Sir Ken.

James Bond 25 ‘Christopher Nolan WILL direct’

Don't count your chickens before they are hatched:

Today Nolan announced he was NOT directing the next Bond film...

Maybe a lesson will be learned about treating a fanboy rumor as a proven fact...
