There’s still school going on and nobody is on vacation.

Sure it’s empty as far as films goes but most people aren’t going to the movies which is why the dates were empty in the first place.

A similar release date to BvS didn't hurt Beauty and the Beast.  Batman v Superman was an unbelievably bad movie that had unbelievably bad reception.  There isn't even an argument to the contrary at this point.

exactly. but these haters totally ignore this. Which is biased of them to do this. It saw a 1% decrease hardly something to write home about but they make it a big deal. It only did 5% less than Wonder. i mean WTH. and they make it sound like its worlds end smh.

Was there too much salt in your thanksgiving turkey?

Again.

They are two sides to the coin. On one hand, pre Thanksgiving openers have had solid Wednesday jumps, even the Twilight films jumped. On the other hand with Discount Tuesday now things are different.

I don't see why it would have a higher Friday than Fantastic Beasts when it already fell behind it in dailies and clearly doesn't have as good of WOM.

I'm using the Friday to Tuesday number for MJ2.

let me give you a real answer and not some troll hater response. Since tuesday saw a bigger increase than FB and other thanksgiving tuesdays its neither bad or good

this board is roaming with trolls its the new imdb boards now. No denying that anymore.

FB had a close to 40% increase also, not that different

If we compare it to sunday and monday, to remove the nice Tuesday that is downgrading relative legs for JL:.

MJ2:

Sunday: 23,245,556

Monday: 8,540,357

Wednesday: 13,663,451, that 58.7% of Sunday, 160% of Monday, 42% of both

FB:

Sunday: 18,493,911

Monday: 6,758,059

Wednesday: 10,931,033, that 59.1% of Sunday, 161.7% of Monday, 43.2% of both

JL:

Sunday: 22,690,920

Monday: 7,508,311

Wednesday: 10,450,000, that 46% of Sunday, 139.2% of Monday, about 34.6% of both

That about 20% worst, now does that make it bad, neutral or good, I do not know but it is significantly lower that the 2 last similar wednesday.

Those 2 movie legs would have been really good if they were SH movie sequels in 2017

Mj2: 2.747

FB: 3.144

So maybe it is not particularly bad, but JL do not show yet that he would have similar long pre-Thanksgiving leg than those 2 had.

This is why you need Strategy.

Putting a sequel to a film with BVS Reception in the middle of all these other films was not a good ideal ,period.

But that is the point. JL would have crashed on every weekend regardless of competition. If anything, the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays will help it to not totally drown.

BVS is a Comic book movie that’s traditionally front loaded.

Summer helps these films out on a serious note.

SM:HC dropped 62% in its second weekend and the film didn’t even feel it and still got close to a 3x.That doesn’t happen when films drop 60% in its second weekend.

no staying practically flat is not bad. It is only 5% from Wonders increase. it increased 4% only. Is that bad too then ?

Why are you trying to deflect the JL drop on other movies?  Shouldn't JL's Wed. # be analyzed as its own without other movies in mind?

Sure the weekdays were strong and yes BVS would’ve faced an Easter drop, but it’d rebound still. It had zero competition.

alright you want me to tell you the difference?

-JL's Wednesday, if it follows DHD's estimated daily increases/decreases for Thanksgiving weekend, gets it to a -53% drop for the 3-day

-Wonder's Wednesday, if it follows DHD's estimated daily increases/decreases for Thanksgiving weekend, gets it to a 5% increase for the 3-day

It doesnt matter where and when a Movie - or CBM - is released. If it gets great WOM it will be succesfull. Deadpool might be the best example for this.

JL just isnt getting the reception to do these kinds of numbers. Add to that the toxic reception of BvS (and SS) and you have an underperformer. Release dates have nothing to do with it.

That seem like an large exaggeration, release date certainly matter, there is a good reason WB took that juicy pre thanksgiving weekend for JL and Deadpool is not necessarily a good example of no impact of a release date on a movie performance. Deadpool released on a Valentine day weekend and the marketing played with that opportunity a lot.

You know, I have a genuinely serious question: considering you have continuously complained about this site's haters and how this site is just IMDB reborn...why are you here? Almost every single one of your posts has been you attacking others for their personal opinions on DCEU movie, and people not giving these films the highest praise concerning box office, so why do you regularly post here? It's like a vegan activist spending all of their time ranting and raving about McDonald's, and yet still visits the place every day. Frankly, it's far more productive to go to another forum or website that fits your values and the way you think than somewhere that's seemingly "way too biased" against movies you like. Just saying.
