Dementeleus
Again, Avengers was not huge in most of Europe. Doing less than half of it in some country is nothing to write home about.Except that that a third of AVENGERS' OS gross would be solid for PROM. It's really working on a far lower level. Tesseract
Again, Avengers was not huge in most of Europe. Doing less than half of it in some country is nothing to write home about.I mentioned The Avengers for reference for The Netherlands because it is the biggest movie of the year by FAR here (and it's not done yet). If it does half of The Avengers it would still be the 4th biggest movie of the year so far.
Elessar
Sure, $250-300m is pretty solid but even a domestic bomb like JC or BS can do that. I'm hoping for like $400m.
TimmyRiggins
Dont forget that the budget is only 130 million dollars, I was talking about 300 OS, not total. It will probably do something like 450-500 worldwide.
Elessar
I'm also talking about OS only.I though JC hit around $250m OS, guess i was wrong.

John Marston
what's with the very late Germany and Japan releases. For Japan it's one week after Avengers. Such a bad release date Edited June 8, 2012 by Shriekofthevulture

Totem
Should open ahead of MIB3 in Australia, won't have legs like it though.
RTX
Prometheus appears to be bombing in Hong Kong: OD presales below MIB in its 3rd week.Prometheus really took off in Hong Kong. Should gross around $1.5M this weekend.http://wmoov.com/
Totem
300M should happen, combined with a strong domestic total of 150m it should see a WW gross close to 500m.Maybe it can beat FOXs big summer hit last year, ROTPOTA grossed 484m WW so I guess that is a great target to aim for.It is locked to be Ridley Scott's highest grossing film OS and will most likely beat Gladiator's 458m WW gross to become his highest grossing film of all time.A smash hit IMO. John Marston
I hear Prometheus might not get a China release which will hurt it's overseas gross
yads
Really interested to see what the second weekend's gonna be, especially in UK and Aus. If it drops 55-60% it'll do the same in US next weekend.
A Marvel Fanboy
It will drop hard everywhere, so 200M-ish is where it will land. 300M is pipedream at this point.

Ignore what the internet nerds tell you, Prometheus is at 74% on RT, 64% on Metacritic, it's not that bad.

Agreed all this doom and gloom suddenly simmering for Prometheus domestically won't have much affect on how it will play OS.
