FlashMaster659
Currently we hear that Last Jedi is clocking past $20M for Monday. That’s more than Rogue One‘s first Monday of $17.6M, but less than Force Awakens $40.1M Monday. More schools were on break following the opening weekends of Force Awakens (77%) and Rogue One (48%) and today there’s only 31% on vacation. http://deadline.com/2017/12/the-last-jedi-star-wars-opening-box-office-records-1202228444/ Edited December 19, 2017 by FlashMaster659
Killimano3
yes but... how far past 20m?
Plain Old Tele
I assume that means very low 20s. Cue the meltdowns and the thinkpieces about how LFL should cater more to fans (followed by a 180 on Tuesday).

If the drop is only slightly bigger than RO, then I'd say that's pretty impressive considering that there's only 31% off school today compared to 48% on RO's first Monday. IronJimbo
What I learned about Star Wars at the box office is that they lowball every prediction, won't be surprised to see this pass 30.

The Mad Titan
So lets say $22 million Monday, what are we thinking tomorrow? It seems to me (anecdotal based on family with kids) that a lot aren't out until Wednesday or even Thursday. Is $30 million doable tomorrow? DAJK
20M Would be a good Monday considering this movie opened somewhat earlier than TFA or RO. With a lot of grade schools not out until later this week, and many university/colleges finishing exam season tomorrow or Wednesday I'd say this is a solid number that will only get better throughout the week
FlashMaster659
Currently industry figures peg the Rian Johnson’s film second go-round at $88M-$90M. Rogue One‘s second three-day was $64M while Force Awakens grossed $149.2M.

MovieMan89
Eek, 20m would be outright bad. Though whatever “ past 20m” means is really vague

Discount Tuesday is crazy this year, moreso than past years. Plus we can expect very strong numbers on Wednesday-Friday as the holidays kick in.
