I think this at best could make the same as its predecessor, adjusted.

I think this has a great chance at 150 mil, the characters are still very popular.

Hmm... Big Hero 6 the week before, and another big kids movie two weeks later... yeah SpongeBob 2 probably won't breakout or make big bucks lol

 

My prediction -

 

$27 million opening weekend

$86 million total 

 

Slightly better legs than the original but still nothing huge - considering it's SpongeBob, the budget will probably be low so it'll be a success just not a blockbuster

But this show is way more popular than whatever Big Hero 6 is, even though I am sure Disney will market that well. This will have 3D, so looks like 100 mil + for me.
