Well, Germany knows just better about the quality of TLJ, since here it will increase from last weekend.

 

Btw, i can see why some people (especially those who didnt like TLJ) find Jumanji to be more entertaining. I have not seen it, but judging from reviews and general talk about it, it seems like kinda the perfect fun holiday movie for the whole family. Also, i call nonsense on it hurting TLJ, theres more than enough room to both doing what they would do without any competition. Jumanji just gets elevated because of great WOM.

Jumanji is certainly a more potent competitor than I thought it would be; the numbers are pretty insane. The way it's playing across demos is damn impressive and very likely stealing some Jedi thunder.

I think that Jumanji can make it within $2M (or even closer) of TLJ for Friday (even though Jumanji has way fewer showings overall)...except for discount Tuesday, it has closed the gap every day this week, and I see that continuing with the Pulse and MT.com data we know...

It's normal in this calendar constellation for TLJ to increase.

Jumanji could pass 200 as soon as Tuesday at this rate. Unfortunately it may miss out on the all time highest non-#1 grosser since it also has a good chance to beat TLJ next weekend.

Long #NewYears holiday wknd will be dominated once again by #StarWars #LastJedi which may rake in near $80M over the 4-day span. Domestic cume shd rise to around $540M range with final still tracking to end with $650-675M.

Jumanji 3 is all but guaranteed now, with the same cast+some big new additions I’m sure. Unfortunately we will probably get Zathura 2 out of all this too.

It would not surprise me at all if Jumanji is #1 next weekend. Moviegoers are really enjoying it.
