battle of the sexes getting nods in comedy categories is also sort of crazy to me. the way it couldn't go two lines of dialogue without bashing you over the head is kinda funny i guess?

They probably accept that comedy is just another word for "cutesy, lighthearted drama."

who's more likely to thank kevin spacey if they win, him or christopher plummer?

also I will hope that Hong Chau doesn't win for Downsizing.  nothing against her as an actress at all (she was good given what she had to do) but it'd be insulting if an Asian won for performing as a racial caricature.

eh i'd disagree w/ this. think a lot of the early stuff with the parents and party guests is kind of comedy of manners but obviously menacing too and won't really get much more than a polite chuckle but for me I KINDA SEE IT.

Chau has no chance to win, otherwise that would be an upset. The supporting actress category seems to be between Metcalf and Janney at this point.

It’s a tossup between Janney and Metcalf at this point.
