No China, no 3D, and before this age of overwhelming superhero movie domination. Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and TDK still blow my mind in terms of box office accomplishments.

Yeah, but the exchange rates at that time were much, much, much better everywhere. this is a great advantage they had over the current films.

If only Black Panther would have made those OS-numbers, then it would have beaten Ultron, WW-wise.

Black Panther did better than Aquaman in some countries, the big factor here is China where Aquaman did almost $300M alone

Because Black Panther had the best exchange rates of the year, (and Venom and Aquaman the worst, among all  superhero movies of 2018), Difference in local currencies is even bigger.
