Nolan movies like Dark Knight + Rises have tons of CGI, thousands of CGI artists in the credits, despite live shoots with real props

so Episode IX is dodging the bullet if Jumanji sequel isn't ready for Dec 2019. Luck favors JJ.

yeah this seems to be Sony's MO now, film stuff quickly and tight on a good budget. Venom  filmed from last October to January this year, Goosebumps 2 did it even closer, they started filming in March.

Hmm...wonder if they'll consider putting Jumanji in the early May 2020 slot since Marvel has not announced a new release for the spot left vacant by GOTG3.

I hope it makes the December date. It fits perfectly with the holiday playfulness

Has this film even begun filming yet?

A couple days back, Dwanta Claus mentioned that they would start shooting next month

Don't know if they meant early February, or a literal month tho. Either way, even with how fast Sony usually is from filming to release, a delay is still very much possible.

Sony has more extreme precedents of how fast they can wrap things up. The Girl in the Spider's Web began filming in January and opened in November the same year. Goosebumps 2 began filming in March and opened in October the same year.
