Can't believe that TSOW is only at 30M. I guess the studio was waiting for Oscar noms to give it a proper wide expansion.

looks like it could double it's cume. at least 50m looks very likely.

The Shape of Water is at 30M without going above 900 theaters. What could we expect for total if it were to win most of those Oscars it got nominated for

If it were to actually get a proper wide expansion and win BP and BD I'd bet it could hit 100. Very impressive total so far for sub 900 theaters.

TGS down a mere 10% from last Tuesday. It was down 26% Tuesday to Tuesday last week, which was already crazy impressive. The drop will be minuscule this weekend.

Nice Tuesday effect - for the most part it is masking the Oscar bump for most of the films - Shape of Water being the exception. My thought on that is most of the other films have already reached the bulk of their potential gross - with SOW being the one to really take off. It got enough Oscar love so maybe the GA will embrace it now. The Boxoffice could use it thats for sure.

WONDER has crossed $250 million at the worldwide box office. It is Lionsgate's highest-grossing title since 2016's LA LA LAND ($446 million). #WonderTheMovie #BoxOffice

Was on 129.936m with 44k Monday so about 64k on Tuesday takes it to 130.0 dom. Had a 27.55m ow so current multiplier is 4.72x.

I'm seriously impressed by Wonder's overseas gross.

I'm always amazed by how much these kind of movies make over here in Brazil. Wonder at 26.3M is humongous, it's easily beating stuff like GOTG2, IT and The Last Jedi and getting into the top10 of 2017!

Wanna know another movie in the top10 for 2017 over here? The Shack!! It's made 23.6M in here; it didn't even make 3M in the second biggest OS market! then there's also stuff like Me Before You in 2016 with 17M!

I honestly have no idea who's actually watching them.

He thinks Maze will make 17m-20m OW I guess...

Apparently. IDK, I personally think Maze3 takes it easily no sweat. However - if it is close than it is a sad commentary on the actual state of the top 5 (and the continued strength of Jumanji.)

I hope The Shape of Water makes as much as possible. It's the film I'm quietly kinda rooting for to win it all this year. There hasn't been a pure genre film win Best Picture since, what, Return of the King?

Fantastic for The Shape of Water and the other Oscar films too. Even The Post got a big jump.

I wish Call Me by Your Name actually got daily numbers, so I could see what kind of Oscar bump it got (if any).

Peace,

Mike

What?

The Shack is one of the most popular books in Brazil (I guess all of my parents read it) and even my father knew when Me Before You was coming, not to mention Wonder that has an insane word of mouth.
