I was just going to make a thread about this! I'm assuming this is the March 18 movie they have going wide, because from what I've read (trying to go in blind on this), it sounds like a much more accessible film to the GA than The Witch and ICAN. This could be sticking around into awards season like Get Out tbh

Toni Colette is such an amazing actress. Anyways I hope they don't hype this movie too much. We've had other A24 horror movies that had amazing early word but didn't really manage to break out in terms of box office or awards. (The Witch, It Comes At Night)

The Witch did pretty damn well for what it was. It topped $25M domestic.

The Witch didn't break out by any means, but it made 40M on a 4M budget and in the US had a near 3x multiplier which is great for a horror movie.

As for awards, no it wasn't winning oscars but it's a horror movie, why would it? It was very well liked. even if some people on this forum were disappointed

Well, Get Out has revitalized the possibility of a really good one getting there, and the year looks a little weak from here. This one might be worth keeping an eye on.

This sounds like a a much bigger crowd-pleaser than either TW or ICAN, but I'm still skeptical if it's actually as scary to the GA as it is to critics. If it is, than this should do extremely well. Hopefully this the A24 movie that actually breaks out into the mainstream. March/April seems pretty weak so if does have great WOM it'll have plenty of room for a long run.
