I have actually never seen Top Gun and i have three questions:

1) Should i be ashamed of myself for never having seen it?

2) Is there a scene in the movie where Tom Cruise is running? Would be quite pathetic if there isnt one.

3) Is the movie actually good? Or is it more like ... good

You know, I don't think there's a scene where he's full on running. He does play beach volleyball however.

Is the movie good? Eh, more of the latter.

But you should be ashamed.

1. No.

2. No.

3. Fighter scenes are fun, overall the movie is decent but tbh I don't really understand why it's such a classic.

Yeah, it's an objectively bad movie. The theme song is actually better than the movie. Undeniably a classic, though.

The original has some incredible flight set pieces. As an actual movie divorced from its iconic legacy, it doesn't exactly hold up 35+ years later. The key to watching it in 2022 is embracing that it's a total product of the time period it was made in.

1) Yes

2) No, if he needs to run after somebody he has a bike for that and it’s the coolest thing ever

3) Yes, it’s the king of a certain kind of movie (practically invented it) and maybe Tony Scott’s best film.  Plus it’s got the best flying sequences in film history that haven’t been touched in over 35 years.
