I think studios are now  planning a plan B if there is another outbreak of the virus in the fall..which seems very likely and which we are now being warned by the CDC to expect.

It feels like it would be jumping the gun moving this and some others. If theaters open back up in June or July which could potentially happen this could have the whole summer to rake in money

Even if theaters were to reopen by the middle of June (like AMC is hoping), no one is gonna risk their big movie opening at a time when people are still apprehensive of going out to public places and not meeting their potential (especially after how dire the box office got the weekend we reached pandemic level). The Summer 2020 box office is looking to be a lost cause, so might as well start filling out 2021's schedule, especially when the movies for next year that were currently being made are now on hold and will likely see their release dates pushed back.
