I've seen way too many people on Snapchat who have already seen this more than once. Also have seen quite a few people at the theater say "geez, should've gotten my tickets online. The shows are sold out. Gotta wait 3 hours, but I'll wait."

 

Booty Carrot Boy and Fifty Shades are definitely not getting spillover business from this. People who came to see Panther are making damn sure they'll get to see.

1 year ago the thought was that it could do 185+ dom to land close to MCU firsts like AM1, THOR1, CA1 and that's a fair result. Beating DS would be great and coming close to IM1/GOTG1 (the biggest MCU firsts a year back, pre-SMH) would be terrific.

Not sure if anybody noticed this but Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has outgrossed LOTR: Return of the King’s $377M DOM. 🤑

 

Now at $379M.

 

Jumanji 2...which it’s OW ($36M) was half of what ROTK opened ($72M). Impressive! If ROTK had these types of legs back in 2003....it would have cleared $400M+ DOM. Kinda odd why that film stopped at just $377M considering everything that worked for it.

Silly numbers for BP. I suppose a lot of people on here predicted as much, but still...

 

Didn't manage to catch it this weekend but will certainly see it at the cinema. And I don't say that lightly about a SH movie these days.
