That's a $4.82M true Friday. I think it'll get to $16M at this rate. Not sure if the storms on the east coast had an effect on it but that preview number to opening day number for RS is not good so unless the storms did have an effect on it, I'm not expecting a good weekend multiplier. But let's see how Saturday plays out.

Damn. Down from Deadline's 6.3m estimate. Red Sparrow is not stabilizing well. Could come in under 17m for the weekend.

I'm guessing it will open  somewhere between $15M+ to $16M!

Bad for Red Sparrow. Rotten Tomatoes rating may have hurt it.

It sure was different from its cinemascore by people who had actually seen it. (audience rating, that is)

well...that's lower.

Yes. Moviepass grayed it out, amongst other things.  I honestly think it was a really good movie that most people would like (not all, given violence and nudity.)  I understood why mother! wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but I am wondering if the actual numbers we get Monday might be different than the estimates if moviepass stops graying it out.  I guess at this point, I'll have to wait and see.  Now I have to get work done because I quit early yesterday to go see Red Sparrow....

Yikes. Red Sparrow below $40M domestic is now a distinct possibility.

it always was, but I'm waiting to see what happens today to see if it was the storm here in the northeast had that big of an effect or not.  So it may have some sort of bounce back depending

It does show about what Moviepass can do to a movie - it will never (at least at its current subscriber base) really harm a huge opener, but it can derail a small-to-mid range one...

It's possible it could. Though people having to "sleep on it" for an extra night may not be the best plan given the mixed WOM. The other Friday jumps for the holdovers appear to be normal at first glance

The Friday increase for the majority of releases seems to be much higher than last week's, which makes me believe the storm didn't really impact the box office at all.

oh i'm not saying it will definitely bounce back but just saying it could have been a factor, or yes maybe it was just people didn't want to see it.  Guess we will find out :)
