Wednesday Numbers - Tomb Raider - 1.64m, Game Night - $590k

It is still a -56% drop from Wednesday of last week, does not look really good no ?

Not saying AWiT is having an good run.  Maybe a better phrase is "interesting run" as I try to figure out its trajectory right now. :)

(FWIW, it had a MUCH higher Tue bump than Strangers Prey at Night)

It's always interesting for me (personally) to realize when I no longer really care about daily tracking for a mega-blockbuster. For TFA, it was basically as soon as it passed AVATAR. For AVATAR, it was basically when it passed TITANIC. For TITANIC, it was when it passed E.T. For BP, it was as soon as it was apparent that it would push well past 600m. All these movies did (or are doing) extraordinarily well, of course, but the numbers just aren't that interesting any more. I guess that's what happens when the initial numbers are so amazing.

Is it getting such a high theater count because it's a Speilberg directed movie?!🤔

That, and the fact that the market is dead as hell. Apart from maybe the top 2 or 3, every other movie will be below 10M this weekend and probably 5-6M next weekend. Lot of deadwood the theaters can clear off screens.

:kitschjob:

That would be a lot of theater.............

No movies reached 4,050 in 2018...

Pirates was the only live action movie reaching that many theater without doing a 100m OW last year.

Someone said that my prediction of those 2 loosing almost there theater

.

22 11 The Hurricane Heist Entertainment Studios 128 -2,155 -94.4% 3
25 10 Gringo STX Entertainment 117 -2,197 -94.9% 3

Would not help Annihilation much because those 2 were already just sharing screen and not playing much:

.

17 14 Annihilation Paramount 478 -609 -56.0%
13 6 Death Wish (2018) MGM 1,304 -1,372 -51.3%

Was right.

Really good hold for Wrinkle too:

4 1 A Wrinkle in Time Buena Vista 3,423 -557 -14.0%

I'm like that to a point too.  Unless I am really, really into the movie which I'm not for this one, and even then I get to the point of, yeah,  I'm on to the next thing :P
