Paramount’s Sherlock Gnomesthe sequel to 2011 sleeper Gnomeo and Juliet (near $100M stateside and $94M abroad) from Disney-Miramax was made for an estimated $59M with MGM covering a third of that. Analysts believe it’s got a shot to beat its mid-teen tracking with a $20M start.

:hahaha:No way it hits 20M

Just now, Krissykins said:

That seems ok for this.

Not sure what the budget is. With P&A it won’t be making much in America anyway.

More of an international thing I guess.

At an estimated net production cost between $155M-$176M, this sequel

So PRU is not a co-production with China afterall according to Deadline.

Quote

Pac Rim 2 opens day and date with China. It isn’t a Chinese co-production similar to Legendary’s Great Wall, so it will only receive the 25-27% rental back from the Middle Kingdom. If it was a co-prod, it would reap a much higher take home around 37%. Legendary is carrying the bulk of the budget’s weight at an estimated 90% while Uni is reportedly covering 10%.

I'm actually expecting PR2 to be more frontloaded than Tomb Raider and do around 25mil. Honestly I thought it would do less than 20mil but of course I know that isn't going to happen now. Still a bad opening for a 150mil budget film. And it seems to be getting bad word of mouth in China as well.

Unsane looks great to me but probably looks like Netflix movie to most other people.

Logan Lucky did 525k by comparison. If Unsane follows that:

1.6M

1.7M

1M

4.3M Weekend

If it follows Strangers 2:

2M

2M

1.2M

5.2M Weekend

If it goes under 4M, it'll probably be by a couple hundred thousand. The movie is already profitable thanks to Soderbergh's model of releasing, and the super low budget (1.2M) will help even more
