Audience scores are changing bigly:

Paul: 95% (+1)

Midnight Sun: 67% (-4)

Unsane: 65% (+3)

Pacific Rim: 60% (-2)

Sherlock Gnomes: 45% (-2)

They re-released that Simon Pegg/Seth Rogen alien flick?

I hate how the poster has "The Godfather of Kids' Movies."

1. The poster for Tonya said it was "The Goodfellas of Figure Skating Movies" (which is a lie, because Blades of Glory exists)

2. Godfather isn't even given its own pun. Literally, just take out "God," put in "Gnome," and you're good. HOW HARD IS THAT?!

Taking a look at Disney Springs, all the openers are performing super lightly. Pacific Rim is doing alright but isn't selling a substantial amount, and Sherlock Gnomes is doing REALLY poorly for a kids movie. Normally, they can easily sell 100+ tickets for an afternoon show, but the show in 50 minutes hasn't even sold 20 tickets. The morning show sold over 100 though

That seems ok for this.

Not sure what the budget is. With P&A it won’t be making much in America anyway.

More of an international thing I guess.

The first one made, what, $300M in China? How are the exchange rates looking these days?

Blockers is going to break out, at least based on my anecdotal evidence. Audience laughed like crazy every time. John Cena has become a really good actor.

Same anecdotal experience here.

This looks like a movie with no audience to me. Maybe I'm wrong, I just don't know who it's made for.

It'll probably open to 4-5M (or 10M if it follows the Entertainment Studios trend of hit/flop  ). There's sure to be seniors that see it out of boredom.

With Ready Player One almost certain to debut at number 1, it’s going to Spielberg’s first film to open at number 1 in a decade and also likely his highest opening weekend as well.

1 3 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Par. $317,101,119 4,264 $100,137,835 4,260 5/22/08
2 7 The Lost World: Jurassic Park Uni. $229,086,679 3,565 $72,132,785 3,281 5/23/97
3 6 War of the Worlds Par. $234,280,354 3,910 $64,878,725 3,908 6/29/05
4 2 Jurassic Park Uni. $402,453,882 2,566 $47,026,828 2,404 6/11/93
5 15 Minority Report Fox $132,072,926 3,001 $35,677,125 3,001 6/21/02

It'll be lucky to make the top 5. (edit: unless you mean his highest OW in a decade, in which case sorry, disregard.)

This is a great article on how easy (and instinctive) it is to slam a movie on social media (or by extension, on a forum somewhere); and how important it is to remember the people behind the movie and their own thoughts, intentions, and reactions. In this case, critic David Ehrlich and writer/director Anders Walter came together to meet in person after Ehrlich trashed Walters' movie, and how both of them are better for it.

It's a good piece of advice for all of us, me most of all.
