Now that's more like it!

And the movie ended up at $83 million which was RTH higher end range.

Fantastic,

My Sunday's projection: $72,100,000 (-13.2%) (Yes, please tell me this way too high like my $77 million original Saturday projection. It blew past this number like it was nothing.)

WEEKEND OPENING RECORD: $261,084,000

:)

Never before has there been such an impressive Saturday. Honestly think your predict has a chance.

Marvel has now been the first to achieve the $100M, $150M, $200M, and $250M OW milestones. Incredible.

This the the truth, people!

Stop disrespecting the masterpiece that was Spider-Man 3 and spreading fake news of TDK being the first one breaking 150M OW.

Whatever it was that @MrPink paid you, it’s not worth it.

Disney should try to go true day-and-date for Avengers 4 next year. Imagine the ww ow with China and Russia on the table ... 1B ww ow could even be achievable!!:ohmygod:

Unfortunately, that decision is entirely in China's hands. To ensure a coordinated global release would mean moving all other markets to accommodate China. The reasoning for IW's late date in China is because the week before May is reserved for local releases.

My goodness. This has opened to 12.5 M here in the Philippines. It has obliterated the totals of BLACK PANTHER, WONDER WOMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE in 5 days. The record for the biggest gross here is 15 M. :lol::lol:

Wait......

What???

83.3333%???

Just imagine that in the USA: $780M Opening Weekend

or in the Uk $150M

or in Japan $208M

or in Germany 15M admissions (which would probably be close to $200M) (or if you use Avatar $135M)

Shows how much potential is still in the developing markets and how Japan, Germany, Uk, USA are close to max potential (The highest OW in Germany is from 2001 (HP1))

Like almost half of F8 is from China lol.

Without China F8 would have a OS opening of $250M

And now IW if China really goes insane over this and it opens to 200M or a bit less with Russia together the total OS opening of IW would be above the previous WW Opening Record (TFA with ~584M)

The OS number is truly crazy. Here are a few templates (if it follows these paths) as to what we could be looking like overseas WITHOUT China.

The Force Awakens.......................... $1.236 billion

Black Panther..................................  $1.178 billion

Jurassic World.................................  $1.155 billion
The Last Jedi...................................  $1.058 billion
Fate of the Furious...........................  $933 million

One of these films is not like the others.

Disney need 7 more 210M ow movies to get the exclusivity of it: Avengers 4, TLK, EpIX, Avatar 2 seem 4 safe bets in the next two and a half years gap.

Aladdin seems possible, since it's a 4-day ow, and that boosts Sunday's numbers, so FSS could be high.

Solo, Toy Story 4 seem weak bets (on the 150-ish ow).

Frozen 2 is out of it, since it opens on wednesday (had it opened on regular thursday night previews, it would have stood the chance of a 200M+ ow)

And what other movie from any studio can get to 210M ow? Can't think of any.

We are already lucky that China didn't put hollywood at stake given the recent US-CH trade dispute. IW could being put in a very difficulty position i.e open during mid-week or release against a big hollywood blockbuster or even pushed to june or fully banned if the trade dispute get worse.
