salvador-232
Top 5, Weekend June 13-16th Aladdin Men in Black: International X-Men: Dark Phoenix Detective Pikachu Mi Amigo Alexis Aladdin scores 4th consecutive weekend at the top, tying How to Train Your Dragon 3 which also managed the same over summer. MIB likely had an unimpressive debut but is not a bomb. Detective Pikachu still holding near the top, together with Mi Amigo Alexis (theater chains tend to be very nice to Chilean movies that don't bomb in term of screens)

salvador-232
Toy Story 4 was released today with the widest release ever, even wider than Endgame with 1.261 showings for the weekend. Its final presales were: 48 showings for OD | 12.168 seats available | 4030 tickets sold Its essentially the same as CM, the difference comes down to the time I checked them (It was earlier for CM), very very impressive. OD is looking very good also. 4 2

salvador-232
Somo actuals from last weekend June (13-16th) Spoiler Spoiler Aladdin: 1 4 $438,895 -33.5% - - - $3,094,570 4 Men in Black International. 2 4 $293,287 - 150 - $1,955 $295,887 1 Dark Phoenix 3 4 $160,000 -66.2% - - - $727,000 2 John Wick 3 4 4 $67,008 -31.7% 40 +40 $1,675 $1,244,643 5 Endgame: Chile 5 4 $50,537 -47.3% - - - $18,466,241 8 On to this weekend, per Deadline, Toy Story 4 scored the best-animated debut ever. The record had been broken earlier this year by Dragon Ball Super Broly with 360k admissions over the weekend. Let's hope that the press reports the actual number. Going forward, TS4 has the next weekend essentially free, but then faces Spiderman AND The Secret Life of Pets 2 on July 4th, and then The Lion King on July 18th. Winter's Holidays this year are concentrated around TLK opening so the boost will be smaller than other years for the Pixar film. Still, it basically assured a place on the top 10 list and Coco may be in danger for the animated crown (But let's wait next weekends drops first!) salvador-232
Anabelle 3 Presales, 4 days before release, 17% of the market. 40 showings for OD | 9393 seats available | 304 tickets sold Honestly not a bad number at all. The chain has done 0 promotion but still tracks ahead of several presales. Spiderman Far From Home 11 days before release, 17% of the market 77 showings for OD | 19.298 seats available | 665 tickets sold Very good PS, very slightly behind CM at a comparable day, but CM had 2 extra weeks of presales.

Toy Story 4 obliterated the previous Pixar OW record, more than doubling Incredibles 2. It will also have the benefit of Winter's Holidays starting on its 4th-5th weekend, which is not that favorable compared with previous movies but the numbers are so huge that it will still be very significant. Coco is more than toast as the biggest animated movie of all time. Not only that, Endgame is in serious trouble too. Basically, almost every multiplier gives a total over 3,5m admissions, more than enough to defeat Endgame (I don't have actual admissions number now but it isn't getting above 3,2-3,3m even with the re-release). It could be more frontloaded but Minions, for example, had a 6,3 multiplier even after opening at the beginning of Winter's Holidays. Regardless, I don't see it missing 3m admissions, an unthinkable number for any movie just last year. Fun Fact: When the 2m barrier was broken for the first time in 2012 by Ice Age 4, there was also another movie that passed it fairly quickly, Stefan vs Kramer. History repeats itself it seems. salvador-232
Anabelle 3 Presales, 2 days before release (taken yesterday), 17% of the market. 40 showings for OD | 9393 seats available | 808 tickets sold Fairly good final presales for Anabelle 3, especially considering that the chain I track did 0 promotion whatsoever (not even a banner in their website!). This year is looking really really strong with many hits. I expect this year to be the first since 2016 to experiment a significant growth from the previous year.
salvador-232
Some news courtesy of local press: Endgame is at 3.060.000 admissions, and the re-release (that will also include a promotional poster like in the US) is scheduled to August 8th. Taking that into account, Endgame is doing at best 3,1m admissions. Also, Toy Story 4 came in even higher than previously reported. The weekend was 580.000 admissions which is just mental... I think Endgame is toast, TS4 needs to have unprecedented frontloadeness to not claim the crown. 3,1m admissions require a 5,34 multiplier, the only pixar movies with lower multipliers are those of the Cars franchise and clearly, the reception is waaaaay better. I will edit the previous post. 4 1

salvador-232
Admissions during the first half reached 15.228.918, up 7,1% from 2018 and 5,8% over previous record 2016. I expect the significant growth to hold for the rest of the year since the second half of last year was rather weak. Avengers total until now is 3.053.000, while Toy Story 4 scored 710.000 admissions on its first weekend, beating the weekly record set by Minions (which had the advantage of Winter's holidays weekdays). Another interesting bit is that Aladdin didn't beat Dragon Ball Super in admissions. Coupled with the strong slate of movies this year, admissions are helped by the re-inauguration of the biggest multiplex of the country, Cinepolis la Reina (which was being remodeled for most of last year) and the seemingly never-ending growth in the number of screens, which last year was 10%, with more inaugurations following over summer this year and a new chain entering the market, Cinemás Movix, which plan to add 63 more screens until 2023 and opened its first multiplex of 8 screens just last weekend (at the end of last year, there were 472 screens in all the country) Edited June 28, 2019 by salvador-
