Has there ever been an MCU movie this long?  It’s a full half hour longer than BP.  That has to have an impact on Friday gross potential.  Look at the Fellowship of the Ring’s post-holiday Friday to Saturday bumps.  Pretty much 90-100%

To be clear, I agree that predicting a 60M Saturday is not substantiated by a ton of data, but it’s also not completely unprecedented for really long movies, is it?

No it's not. BP is 134 minutes, IW is 149.

IW also has 15 minute credits, while most Marvel movies are around 10.

it's spielberg's best movie IMO. i already ranked all of them in a thread pretty recently maybe when RP1 came out but i'm just gonna say Raiders is the best and Lost World is the worst.

I'd give the slightest edge to Jaws, it's got more of that hangout quality which I love, with all the nuances found therein. But Raiders is at least #2

the BBFC is the most accurate source for me for runtimes (they used to have them down to the second but not anymore) and they say 149. i've heard 156 and 160 but it's 149. me also looking at my watch when the movie ended and having a general understanding of time helped me figure this out too.

Just looked it up.  BP is 135 min.  AoU is 142.  CW is 148.

AIW is 160.

The extra 10 min were for the fan event on OW. IW is actually 149 min.

You can say that about every record.

Less so if box office was accouted for in tickets sold.

That way, we wouldn't have much records to talk about on BOT.

God Bless the almighty dollar and the federal reserve.

Ah, ok. That explains why there were sources saying different things. What's that fan event though?

Ok, that would explain it.  I just did a quick Google search, and it doesn't give that much detail.

Edit: IMDB does indeed show 149 min.  That deserves a like!

Spielberg has yet to show he can do an interesting & complex set piece with tons of CGI like the blockbusters post first Transformers, 2012 & Avatar, so post 2007.

Ready Player One was a freaking joke in that regard.

Spielberg s best CGI film is the BFG but that movie didn't really have action (it had some I know)
