Judging from domestic and overseas performance, even if end game follow IW's run from here, it will not beat Avatar, it will stuck at 2784m. And the trend is not looking good to have better hold than IW.

Despite John Wick 3 is not as big as Deadpool 2, EG still drops >50%, this kind of set the tone that how much will EG drop in the face of competition.  With Aladdin coming next week, which sure will be a bigger OS hit than bombed Solo. (Solo only did 170m OS-Ch), I can see next week drops harsher than IW's 55% when it faced Solo.

IW's droped only 27% OS-Ch in its 6th week when it faced zero competition, while EG needs to deal with could-be-gigantic Godzilla 2 and Rocketman in many markets.

The 7th week doesn't seem to be in favour of EG, when EG need to battle two front with X-men and SLOP 2 while IW only need to deal with Ocean 8 which wasn't an OS-friendly film.

All in factor could cause EG total to dip to 2.76b, it is totally now up to Marvel whether to top the crown or not.

I just want it to finish at $2.77X B

Memorial Day weekend in the states. The 2nd(or 3rd) busiest movie going holiday of the year.

Sure, but it is an US only thing. Even IW last year only managed to get a 41% drop weekend. Not counting weekday drops and OS drops, don't think it's happening.

Edit: There's no weekend for China starting from next week either so even lower.

You might be forgetting soccer worldcup that was the reason for lack of competion being competition in itself

At least IW still had those screens in its hand, when IW did drop only 27% in the week that it faced no competition.

People are overestimating the worldcup effect on the box office especially to the holdover. It is not like EG debut in the week when worldcup season. Worldcup or not will have minimal effect to both IW and EG.

Play is still strong in Asia where China has now grossed $625M; in the UK and Korea it has crossed $100M. In the latter, Endgameis now the biggest Western movie of all time in terms of admissions.

In IMAX, Endgame has hit $207M global, including $145M overseas and $81.2M in China alone. The result in China is now double the IMAX box office of Avengers: Infinity War.

Great :D

China, where Disney has Aladdin next session, is far and away the top offshore play now at $625M. Both the UK and Korea have also crossed the $100M mark. This weekend saw Endgamebecome the highest grossing all-time industry release in Bolivia and Korea (Western/admissions).

It is also the highest grossing movie ever in Latin America ($257M) and Asia-Pacific ($1.094B) as well as the No. 7 biggest in Europe ($493M). During the 4th overseas frame, Endgame held No. 1 in several Latin American markets, as well as five in Europe.

Strong holds came from Japan (-33%), Peru (-36%), Denmark (-41%), Spain (-43%), Chile (-43%), Colombia (-43%), Australia (-46%), Poland (-48%), Ecuador (-48%), Singapore (-49%), UK (-50%), Norway (-50%) and South Africa (-50%).

After China, the rest of the Top 5 overall includes UK ($109M), Korea ($101.5M), Brazil ($79.2M) and Mexico ($73.9M)

It's interesting that Endgame has made more domestic than Avatar, but Avatar made 2 billion overseas alone, and Endgame isn't making that overseas.

Even if Endgame makes more than Avatar worldwide, Avatar's overseas numbers are still untouchable.

On the bright side it's nice not be in a horrific dollar devaluing recession

IW made another $83 million after its 4th weekend, domestically. I believe Endgame will come in lower than that, around $70 million. After it's 4th weekend, IW faced (3) $50m+ openers in the next 5 weekends. Endgame will face at least 4 (Aladdin, KOTM, SLOP2, TS4) and potentially 6 (depending on Dark Phoenix and MIB numbers.)

IW made another $72 million after its 4th weekend, OS. Again, I'm expecting Endgame to fall a short of this as well at $65 million.

China is a big stink in all of this, as IW went on to make about $17 million more in China after its 4th weekend. Endgame didn't get an extension and will be done on the 23rd, so it might do $3-4 million more in the next 4 days.

All in all, I think Endgame finishes around $2.755 billion.

With an $86.2M weekend and a $54.2M weekend in China, it made $32M elsewhere. That was a 60.5% drop from last week's $81M.

That means it's made $918.5M so far OS w/o China.

If I recall correctly China made $375m.  Which mean OS-China is $994.5m which means  $76m after the fourth w/e  or 2.375x

OS-China AEG 4th w/e is an estimated $39m (my guess it will go up since it has every w/e).  To only do $65m more it would have a 1.66x. Nothing so far indicates that kind of freefall.

IW biggest competition in europe at least wasnt only wc last year.. its the same as every mcu movie... noone older than 40 cares about it 😢 titanic and avatar had some appeal(seafaring catastrophe big budget epic romance/first 3d movie from the guy that brought you titanic) for them... even tfa as an old nostalgic reminder had _some_(bolstered because it was released during xmass trust me)...there is no way you could get my still vital parents of 58+ to watch that during summer.. and i imagine if they were 20 years younger the story would be the same.. and they are non intelectual/ordinary/moderately educated middle class... its just hard to break thru them with so much colors in the world i guess..pitty, they are missing out:/ TTVOMJ

$65m more after a $39m weekend would be a 2.67x multiplier.

The comparison stands whether you include the w/e number or not.

AEG isn't likely to make 17% less off a a w/e that's 21% higher

Another good hold for Endgame overseas. It still has small chances to beat Avatar's record by a few million.

Domestic: $842M

China: $627M

Rest: needs to be at least $1.319B to beat Avatar!

Your rest will be hard to happen. Dom need to be at least 10M higher.

Infinity War added 2.25x its 4th weekend of 32M OS-China. This weekend, assuming actuals increase, touches 40M. However FSS should only be 38M.

So 1222 + 38*2.25 = 1308. It'll need to hold better than IW to touch 1315 or so

The 32 for IW was the official weekend figure rather than the FSS, so 40*2.25 would be right.
