AoU did 7.5x its Memorial Saturday gross after Saturday. The corresponding figures for CW and GotG were 7.0x and 8.0x.

 

IW is at 616M after Saturday. If we assume the 7.0-8.0x range, then it should finish with 662-668M. If it somehow manages to develop Avengers legs (8.75x), it will finish with 673M.

I've been thinking about my insistence that it would crack 300mil but I've been thinking about it for hours and I wonder if Deadpool 2 will really crack 300mil. It feels like a 50/50 proposition right now. And what does Fox take away from it if it does do less than 300mil? Like say it ends with 290mil.

Despite Solo flopping and Deadpool falling like a rock, this year (largely thanks to BP/IW ofc) is still pacing 8% ahead of last year at the year-to-date box office and it will only get better when the Incredbiles/JW combo is unleashead:

SW is not meant to be a Marvel-ish franchise. It’s a very simple story that should’ve ended and after that they’re either recycling or not keeping the essence of SW.
