The King's Man | December 22 2021 | Fox | Delayed again | Comes to Hulu/Disney+ February 18

Recommended Posts

That’s awful  a six month delay on  a movie that’s 3 months out and already has 2 trailers out just fuck ups the marketing campaign and ballon the budgets thus creating unrealistic box office expectations. Disney doesn’t know what to do with this middle of the road rated r franchise so they’re sabotaging it.

Or maybe it just isn't that good...…..

It's stupid to think that Disney is going to deliberately sabotage a film it's owns. Makes no sense. Mess up it's release unintentionally, yes, but delibertly sabotage it, no way.

And remember after the first film opened people were saying this was going to be spy franchise that would unthrones James Bond.

We have heard that before. And it never happens. Sucessful spy franchises, yes, but dethrone Bond? The Bourne series came the closest, but it did not close to taking the #1 Spy franchise slot.

Too bad, there were going to be comic book movies 3 weeks in a row before this move. (Birds of Prey, this, and then Bloodshot.)

Most people don't know this is a comic book movie.

Lets face it, when we talk Comic Book Movies almost all of the time we mean SUperhero comics.

Well this certainly explains the big delay.

"HN Entertainment has been able to confirm that Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman franchise prequel The King’s Man will be undergoing some reshoots/additional photography that involves Gemma Arterton’s character Polly (possibly other characters as well)."

I wonder if they were able to finish these reshoots in time?

What are the chances it meets its current release date? Especially if it still has reshoots to do?

If it has reshoots, zero chance. If it's ready to go, I imagine it will keep its spot if Quiet Place for example becomes the first big release. It's a Fox "dump" so I could see Disney using it as a sacrificial lamb to see how September fares movie-wise. If people are eager to go back to cinemas, this could be a big hit. If not, oh well, it's a Fox production anyways.

This is all going to depend on how the global situation progresses of course. I can't really answer this definitively but my answer is leaning on the hypothetical that things clear up substantially throughout the summer months.
